Like all Dunham shoes this is one great pair of shoes, comfortable , easy to maintain.I have wide feet and go hiking a lot. I took a pair of Merrill’s to Iceland last year thinking they would be my new go-to hiking shoes, but not one year later they’ve started getting holes in them. By contrast, I bought my first pair of this shoe 5 years ago. They endured a lot and the leather upper never got holes. I stopped wearing them after the rubber sole started wearing off one after about four years and many miles. Now I’m buying them again because they are wide enough (and unlike the newer Propets the toe box is spacious and doesn’t dig into the top of my foot) and my first pair lasted longer than any other shoes I’ve owned.I've had these shoes for a couple of months now and they're fantastic. I bought them as a back up pair and now they are the shoes I wear the most. So far, they've held up great and couldn't ask for a more comfortable pair. When these finally wear out you can bet I'll be replacing them with another set. Highly recommend.I wear a size 10, D to accommodate orthotics and have a narrow left heel, and this last attribute makes it difficult for me to find shoes that fit well. Usually, the left heel will slip off. I ordered 5 shoes though Amazon.Com and the company it bought a few years ago, Zappos.com, including well-respected brands like Ecco, Dansko, Rockport, and Drew.. All were well-made, but only the Dunham shoe was narrow enough to fit well. It fit me exceptionally well, but it may be too narrow for many people. For people like me, this may be the shoe you've been looking for.The upper left part of the shoe was a bit too tight, hitting my little toe, but this loosened up after about 3-4 weeks; I'm very glad I kept them. They're solidly build with good traction, and I like the appearance. I also got used to the multi-colored laces, but you could always replace these with something else. The arch support is fair; I would try wearing these with orthotics if you need extra support. I think they're a good everyday shoe that compares very well to others in the $100-%150 price range. NOTE: I recently discovered that I have toe pain related to MTP degeneration five years after breaking that toe. The Dunhams accommodate a flat rigid orthotic. However, my doctor has recommended the highly cushioned, and more rigid Hoka One One brand for my condition (not these shoes), and I expect I'll alternate between wear those and wearing this shoe.first....my husband is an auto mechanic and will literally walk out a pair of shoes (they don't last long when they should). For example, a pair of military-issue basic training black leather boots (purchased on the military post)...within 6 months, the boots broke loose from the soles. I have purchase roughly 4 pairs of shoes in a year so he can rotate them out; in order to make the shoes last longer than a year. Now for these shoes...he has worn them for 3 weeks...he is very impressed with them. At first, he was a little skeptical because they were hard, they did not meet his "flex" test (comfort), and he was not sure if this would be comfortable.1st week, he was happy. His legs, knees, and back did not hurt like normally. 2nd week, it rained and he did not do the slip and wiggle when walking on the slippery concrete...and like the week before, his legs, knees, and back did not hurt. 3rd week, he was very impressed with the shoes.I Will update if anything else happens to the shoesI have owned these shoes for 3-1/2 years. Only now is the sole delaminating, but not worn excessively. Far cry from my last New Balance that lasted six months. I have narrow feet (9-1/2 B) and the fit is tremendous. The only hitch (and this may be my feet or the fact I like to lace them tight) is that I have developed sores on my ankles just under the tongue. It is a shame as I really want to buy another pair and hate to go back to New Balance. I find the wear to be excellent as is the fit and construction. These are weekend shoes. The waterproofing lasted until the soles separated. Despite my ankles, I would recommend these to anyone.Really happy with this purchase. I have had foot problems my whole life and these make my work day so much more tolerable.I researched online about measuring my foot properly before ordering.Love the soles, although they are a BIT hard. The waterproofing is great, I've stood in foods over the laces (like where you'd contact a soccer ball to kick it) and I have stayed nice and dry.Highly recommend, especially if you have flat arches and pronating problems like me.These are the 3rd pair of Dunham's that I have brought. The first 2 pairs fitted really well and I like them a lot. These ones were to short. I thought the the sizing of Dunham would have been consistent across all shoes and sizes. Unfortunately I needed to return them.If these last as long as the ones I had for the last two and a half years, it will be greatWaterproof and Attractive
